Originally built for the manager of Dalgety and Co in 1903, this charming cottage has showcased displays that tell Port Hedland’s story, including the rich history surround the pearling and pastoral trade.

Join the Port Hedland Tour to learn about the history of the world’s largest tonnage port. 230-metre carrier vessels handle over 100 million tonnes of iron ore per year, which goes towards the building of iconic structures around the world, making it a truly unique sight. Go to the shores of Marapikurrinya Park at sunset for the best views of the movement of enormous ships and also the Dampier Salt’s towering stockpile.

From October to March the Hedland turtle monitoring program commences seeing Flatback turtles visit our beaches to nest and later return for hatching. A great experience for visitors to enjoy while visiting Discovery Parks - Port Hedland.
