Kalgoorlie Goldfields Holiday & Caravan Park - Things to see and do

Pop in and check out the latest art exhibition or theatre show and pick up an arty souvenir from the new gift shop at The Goldfields Arts Centre. Situated in Kalgoorlie, the GAC is the premier performing arts and entertainment venue in the heart of the vast Goldfields Esperance region of WA.

Get a glimpse of Australia’s largest open cut mine, with its massive mining trucks dwarfed from great heights. It’s 3.5 kms long and 1.5 kms wide, and is the most popular site in the region. By day or night, the Super Pit mine is spectacular.

You’ll wish you could take it all home with you! The museum features the state’s largest display of gold bars and nuggets. Learn about the challenges of life in the 1900’s and how prospectors searched for gold in the old days.

What a gorgeous place to recharge your batteries. Set on 26 hectares, the Arboretum offers wonderful spaces to picnic under the shady river gums, walking trails amongst native eucalyptus, and there’s a dam that attracts stunning water birds.

Since its discovery, more than 58 million ounces of gold has been discovered at the mine. Now a tourist destination, the mine documents Australia’s gold rush history and the modern day mining at the goldfields.

Kalgoorlie offers Free guided tours are held every Monday and Wednesday at 10:30am.

Learn about the legendary Royal Flying Doctors Service, and get a glimpse of how it operates from its base at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport. A theatre screens real-life footage. There’s also the chance to inspect their state of the art planes.

One for nature lovers, Karlkurla Bushland park features more than 2000 native trees and bushland over 200 hectares. Stroll through the park’s 4km trail and see if you can spot a western grey kangaroo or two.

Providing a quintessential Australian experience the Nullarbor Links concept is unique. The 18-hole par 72 golf course would span 1,365 kilometres with one hole in each participating town or roadhouse along the Eyre Highway, from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia to Ceduna in South Australia. Each hole includes a green and tee and a somewhat rugged outback-style natural terrain fairway.
