Ayr Holiday & Caravan Park - Things to see and do

Offering miles of pristine sandy coastline, nearby Alva Beach is a popular spot for beach fishing, birdwatching and windsurfing. At low tide, the beach makes for excellent exploring, with lots of small crabs and shells. It’s also a launching point for dive tours to the dive wreck on the Great Barrier Reef, the 'SS Yongala'.

To get your heart rate up, head to the Bowling Green Bay National Park, just 60km from Ayr. It covers almost 58,000 ha of coastal and mountainous country with habitats ranging from mangroves to rainforests. With a range of hikes to suit all fitness levels, it is also great for bird watching.

Visit Gubulla Munda, the giant 60 metre carpet snake in Plantation Park who is an Aboriginal totem and the protective spirit for the Birri Gubba people. The park also features a state-of-the-art nature based play area with all-abilities swings, a fortress-themed lookout, and rock and rope climbs.

Mt Inkerman offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Burdekin Region. There is a walking track for those who wish to stretch their legs and the lookout has a wealth of information on display about the significance of the area to traditional owners.
