G’day Group Makes A Splash Acquiring Moama Waters Holiday Park With Grand Visions For The Future
Australia’s leading regional tourism company, G’day Group, has further expanded its presence in the Murray region with the acquisition Moama Waters Holiday Park.
Situated between Echuca-Moama and Barmah and on the banks of the mighty Murray River, the acquisition is another exceptional addition to G’day Group’s Discovery Parks network.
The 20.6-hectare property was opened in 2013 and features 245 sites, 26 villas, 71 powered sites, two resort swimming pools and waterpark, an on-site restaurant, private boat ramp and boat washing facility.
G’day Group Chief Executive Officer Grant Wilckens said the addition of Moana Waters Holiday Park offered significant growth upside for the company.
"The acquisition of Moama Waters Holiday Park provides Discovery with another high-quality asset in the Echuca-Moama tourism region, which is a sought-after destination within easy driving distance of Melbourne," Grant said.
"With contemporary facilities such as deluxe villas, water parks and the Riverbank Moama restaurant, the park offers an exceptional guest experience and is an exciting addition to the Discovery portfolio.
“Additionally, the property holds promising scope for further development, as existing sites are well distributed throughout the park, presenting infill opportunities to create more facilities for visitors.”
Levees around three sides of Moama Waters, which were built during the park’s construction, provide substantial protection from flooding. The park witnessed only minor impacts during the most recent floods in late 2022 and G’day Group will now invest a further $1.3 million to enhance flood resilience.
As part of the acquisition, the park will be integrated into the Group’s portfolio as Discovery Parks – Moama Waters.
“We’re excited to enhance Discovery Parks - Moama Waters into one of the premier holiday parks in Australia and this move will undoubtedly elevate the profile of Discovery Parks in the region,” Grant said.
"With a large number of visitors to the region each year, there's an abundance of activities ranging from swimming, boating, and fishing to blues festivals, picturesque national parks and nearby golf courses.”
