Summer is around the corner, meaning it’s time to start planning your summer escape!
Longer days means more time outdoors. Think beach cricket on the sand, drinks on the verandah, waterpark fun in the sun.
Whether it’s a romantic getaway, an active family holiday or a get together with the crew, self-contained cabin accommodation is the ideal choice for a no fuss summer vacation.
Staying in a cabin on a self-catering holiday is popular with families and larger groups. How else can you make yourself at home, take time to settle in and really enjoy your holiday in a way that suits you?
Great Value for Families or larger groups
Summer holidays are the best time to bring everyone together after a long (sometimes, too long) year!
Alternatively, it could be the time to break away and leave those awkward once-a-year interactions behind.
Whoever you choose to spend your time with, an extended stay means more time together, more time to reflect on the year that’s gone, and more time to make plans for the future. It also means planning a holiday that will be comfortable for everyone, meaning cabin accommodation should be top of your list.
Choosing cabin accommodation makes sense because it is more affordable than most budget hotels. Unlike most of these, Discovery Holiday Parks cabins are fully self-contained and come equipped with an ensuite, kitchen, and separate sleeping areas. Some even have their own private balcony or verandah, which means outdoor entertaining comes as standard. You can’t do that in a cramped budget hotel room!
Cabins have more Space
When you compare cabin accommodation to most hotels, the biggest difference is space! You get so much more of it in a Discovery Holiday Parks cabin.
While most offer separate bedrooms, a lounge and dining space, many of our cabins have their own private balconies or decks with outdoor furniture to make unwinding in the great outdoors even easier to achieve.

Aside from the chance to unwind once the youngest members of your tribe get their heads down, having your own outdoor space can also be invaluable when it comes to drying clothes or having a place to ‘drip dry’ after an afternoon of fun by the pool.
If you plan on bringing the family pet along, many of our cabins also offer fenced off areas to allow you to keep your dog close by. Note that if you do intend to bring the family dog, make sure to let our park managers know so they can ensure that the appropriate arrangements can be made.
Staying Cool is Easy
With temperatures often soaring above 40°C in some parts of Australia, staying cool can be a challenge, but not when you opt to stay in a Discovery Holiday Parks cabin.
Apart from the fact that many of our parks have swimming pools and splash parks (and are close to the ocean) our cabins are often equipped with split-cycle air-conditioners and ceiling fans to ensure that you stay cool on scorching hot days.
Windows and doors are also fitted with blinds to help block out the heat, allowing you to stay cool on days when an afternoon indoors makes sense!
Cabin Accommodation requires less packing
Designed to make holidays easier, everything has been thought of when you book cabin accommodation for your next holiday!
Leave the tent pegs, swags, and tarpaulins at home. Discovery Holiday Parks cabins are equipped with all the comforts you need from quality linen and bedding, modern kitchen stoves and cooktops, family-sized fridges, crockery, cutlery, and contemporary furnishings.
All of it makes packing for your holiday so much easier, especially if you happen to be travelling with young children.
Summer BBQs are a breeze
A cookout on the BBQ is always a good idea, except when the weather is just too hot!
On those days, it’s understandable to crave something cool and easy to throw together, including a fresh salad, a plate of cold cuts, or ice pops for the kids. Access to your own kitchen that includes a full-sized fridge makes this a possibility. For those who like to meal prep on the go, this adds flexibility to your holiday by allowing you to store these types of meals and not have to squeeze everything into an esky.

Fun for little and big kids
We understand that it can be challenging to keep the little ones entertained throughout the summer holidays.
At Discovery Holiday Parks we accept the challenge. We also happen to know a thing or two about keeping young people busy.
Booking cabin accommodation with us gets you access to all of our park’s facilities and features. These include indoor or outdoor pools, splash parks and water parks, playgrounds, bouncing pillows, bicycle pump tracks and fully-equipped camp kitchens.
In addition, our Activity Rooms are full of family favourites like Air-Hockey, Table Tennis and Pool! No harm in a little family competition, especially when the weather isn’t cooperating.
With 15 water parks that families love returning to across the country, booking a Discovery Holiday Parks cabin gets you and your family a holiday sure to be loads of fun. We often find that families might not even leave our parks and call it one of the best family holidays they've ever had!
