We've always loved Adelaide, but that doesn't mean it's not worth putting in the rearview mirror from time to time - and not just at the weekend.
Here are five reminders of why an SA Midweek Getaway* is your chance to let absence make the heart grow fonder.
*Use the code 'SAGETAWAY' to pay $99 per night when you book a Deluxe Cabin at any of these great locations.
1. You can’t take the car onto Brighton Beach
Although we know some legends have tried, you can’t take your car onto Adelaide’s metro beaches.
Get yourself down to Robe, however, and you can 4WD your heart out on any day of the week!
The cliff-side town of Robe is the also perfect place to explore the Limestone Coast, where inquiring minds will never be bored and the office will feel planets away.

2. Canoeing in Victoria Square is frowned upon - especially during business hours
We know there’s water everywhere in Adelaide (kind of), but most of it is just for looks. You can put a canoe in the Torrens, sure, but how far can you go?
A trip to Lake Bonney in the Riverland solves this problem, and has a range of watersports to take your mind off things. It will also put you in the frame for next year’s Classic Dinghy Regatta where you can learn to sail, kayak or hire a canoe for two.

3. There are no good fish and chippies in the CBD
It might be controversial, but no city pub can ever match those staring-out-to-sea, wind-in-your-hair, sand-between-the-toes-moments with your favourite bag of chips in hand.
Sotos Fish Shop in Semaphore is an exact case in point - an old-school takeaway experience just a short walk from our Adelaide Beachfront location.
Iconic in the area, Sotos reminds you that getting away isn’t about the distance travelled, it's about experiencing things together (and eating the best fish and chips in town!)

4. The next available table on a Saturday in the Barossa is in 2024
The only con of having the Barossa Valley just up the road is that your favourite resto is always booked!
Frustrating as that might seem, you shouldn’t despair, because awesome food and wine events are always happening during the week.
Check out the Barossa's amazing calendar of events and make a mid-week reservation today, silly.

5. Escaping a hospital in the city has a completely different meaning
Although Clare Valley is well known for its wineries, just up the road in Blyth, Blyth Breakout Rooms is a chance for the whole family to escape from a spooky old hospital that may or may not be haunted!
Featuring a number of rooms with unique themes, this is top-notch family fun.
Open by appointment throughout the week, they've got a 10% discount code - CVDP10 - to use when you stay with us!
