You might recognise their faces from the telly, Dan & Steph (pictured below) were contestants on My Kitchen Rules. The couple were crowned winners of their season in 2013 and have now also recently been crowned ambassadors for Visit Fraser Coast - that’s a lot of shiny, heavy headwear! Discovery Parks – Fraser St, Hervey Bay Manager, Georgina, caught up with the local husband and wife foodies to chat about their restaurant and favourite places to hang out on the Fraser Coast.
Georgina: What’s the name of your local business?
Dan & Steph: We’re Dan & Steph and we own and operate EAT at Dan & Steph’s.
G: What is the purpose of your business?
D&S: Unique casual café / restaurant.
G: How long have you been operating in Hervey Bay?
D&S: 6 years.
G: If someone wants to come dine with you, how can they do it?
D&S: We are open daily – Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm, Saturday & Sundays 7am to 3pm. We also open Friday & Saturday nights from 5:30pm. Only closed Tuesdays. During COVID-19, we currently have a takeaway menu available.
G: What aspects of your business do you love the most?
D&S: The people, being creative with food and making people happy with food!
G: What are some of the best bits about operating your business?
D&S: Lifestyle, creativity and the people.
G: When you are not busy working, what do you like to do within the Hervey Bay Region?
D&S: We are fishing or swimming at the beach, on Fraser Island, hiring a boat, at Wetside water park, walking along the esplanade or playing at one of the amazing parks.
G: What are your TOP 5 ‘Must Do’s’ for a visitor to the Fraser Coast?
D&S: Walking along the Urangan Pier, Wetside Water Park, whale watching, visiting Fraser Island and visiting The Story Bank in Maryborough.
