Kids playing mini golf among the palm trees at Brisbane Holiday Village
Like our children, we love all our parks equally, but if you’re after some inspiration for planning a family holiday that will keep kids big and small entertained, we have you covered. From waterparks and pools to games rooms, mini golf and more, here are some top options for family fun!
QUEENSLAND
Nobby Beach Holiday Village (Top Parks Gold Coast)
Where: Miami, QLD
With theme parks, wildlife experiences and sandy beaches galore, the Gold Coast is a classic Aussie family holiday destination and Nobby Beach Holiday Park is right where you need to be to get in on the action. The kids will have a ball on the huge 35m water slide, playground and dedicated ‘chill out zone’ complete with TV, books and games. Little beach bums will love the patrolled beaches, just a short walk from the park, for safe swimming and surfing. If the kids still have energy to burn after action-packed days hitting the theme parks, you can relax while they make their own fun – the park is a fully gated complex with secure entry and exit.

Brisbane Holiday Village (Top Parks Brisbane)
Where: Eight Mile Plains, QLD
Brisbane Holiday Village is a top location for exploring all the sights of the Sunshine State’s capital city, with no shortage of fun to be found in the park itself. Run a family tournament on the 18-hole mini golf course, pedal up a storm on the 350m bike track, and don’t miss the spurting mushroom fountains of the kid’s shallow splash pool. Budding sports stars can make the most of the tennis court and multi-purpose sports field (ideal for netball, hockey or soccer) while Mum and Dad can relax poolside or grab a drink in the licensed restaurant. If you have some little animal lovers in tow, head 30 minutes west to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary – the biggest koala sanctuary in the world – to hand-feed kangaroos and cuddle a koala.
VICTORIA
Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park (Top Parks Halls Gap)
Where: Halls Gap, VIC
Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park on the edge of Lake Bellfield in the Grampians is a true mountain getaway. After getting your hiking boots dusty on long hikes, the park will make you feel like you’re in camping luxury. Kids can greet the kangaroos and cockatoos around the park, bounce on the spring-free trampoline, and paddle around in the wood fire-heated pool and after dark you can toast some marshmallows over a campfire. While the kids are busy playing you can treat yourself by booking a massage with the park!
NEW SOUTH WALES
Kings Point Retreat (Top Parks Ulladulla)
Where: Ulladulla, NSW
Game on! Kids can let their imagination run wild as they act like kings, queens and jesters on the castle-themed playground or challenge each other to arcade game tournaments in the rec room – there are so many family-friendly options at Kings Point Retreat! When they’re ready to cool off the waterslides are a splashtacular ride and the park is just minutes from swimming, water skiing and fishing on Burrill Lake. There’s plenty of room for the family to spread out and enjoy with multiple pools, BBQ areas and sports courts. Even the family pet will be a happy camper – with pets allowed on sites or into a cabin.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Mandalay Holiday Resort (Top Parks Busselton)
Where: Broadwater, WA
Water babies will go mad for Mandalay Holiday Resort! The park’s rainbow waterslide and three pools are always a hit with kids big and small (and Mum and Dad too!). We love the indoor pool with its own easy access beach, with waters a comfy 28 degrees year-round. Five minutes from the Busselton town centre and close to a safe swimming beach, Mandalay makes a great base for exploring the sights of the Margaret River region. Our top tip? Don’t miss the underwater observatory at Busselton Jetty – the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere! You might even spot a mermaid!
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
